Goin’ Digital!

Everyone who knows me already knows that I am a digital junkie and now I have just pushed it to a new level with Digital Project Life. What is Project Life you ask? Well, Project Life was designed by Becky Higgins as a way to quickly scrapbook daily memories. I was toying around with the idea of purchasing the physical kits after enjoying how I am putting together my new travel journal with SN@P products (which are similar using pockets & page protectors) but, then I discovered the digital versions.

With digital project life or scrapbooking products not only do they cost less than the physical products but, you can reuse the templates, journaling cards, filler cards etc forever so you only pay for these items once saving you money in the long run. Digital scrapbooks can be printed and bound through various websites if you choose and of course that is an additional expense.

I purchased the official Product Life templates & kits from AC Digitals or you can find similar free products on the internet and I have been using them with Photoshop CS6. I really like how quick it is to make layouts! I downloaded the digital Project Life stuff on Thursday night and as of right now I have 11 layouts already completed which is unheard of for me. Here is an example of what I have been doing:

I have started to create a book with all the highlights from my various trips from Kentucky first. I have all of my trip 2011 finished, and most of 2010 done already. It is nice because I can just keep adding on my trips until I reach the page limit for whatever printing service I decide to use. I also am going to make the effort to make more daily photos over the summer so that I can start a summer album too.

Do you do digital project life or scrapbooking? What are your favorite resources or tutorials?
